Everyones final presentations today were fantastic and quite interesting. There were some topics I have never even thought about such as the effects of kids and technology, different types of football equipment to prevent concussions, and gender inequality in the workforce. But there is one presentation that caught my attention on how important this issue is. The one presentation that I learned a lot about and should be addressed is Breanna Tonello and the organ 3-D printing. I loved how she did a powerpoint presentation and gave us a background history about the topic. This type of machinery is a great way for solving the issue of organ transplants. It amazes me that this type of printer can create living organs for people in need. This is exactly what we need to see more of in the world. Using a brochure in a doctor's office is a great idea to get this issue across. This machine needs more media attention and I think a brochure is a great start. My project is related to Facebook envy and jealousy of the net generation (ages 13-25). To relate my topic to hers, using social media (like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) as a genre could also be a successful way of getting this innovative idea across. Many people these days have Facebook accounts and post a variety of issues. All people share are their travels, food, funny moments, and much more. But if just one person posts about how 3-D printing can change the way we treat patients, it is likely this post will be popular. With the future ahead and many technological improvements and works in the making, I believe this printer will be apart of our health lives sooner or later. Charles Hull is a hero and needs to be recognized for what he has created.
